Sun Gazing - Animated Sun

The Art of Sun gazing has been practiced for thousands of years. It has been brought to light recently by authors and solar gazing pioneers Hira Ratan Manek (sun gazing) and Jashumeen (living on light) who claim to primarily “live on light.” They are using photosynthesis the same process by which plants convert sunlight into energy and nutrition.

 

I have been personally doing it for almost a year now, and I’ve noticed more energy, stronger workouts, feeling less hungry, better sleep, heightened mood, improved vision and deeper spiritual connection. I feel that they’re really on to something. I don’t do it exclusively, but I do use it as a way to gain better health, better eyesight and deeper spiritual connection (it detoxes your pineal gland, better known as the “Third Eye”).

It’s healing benefits are many and often profound. It can increase your overall health as well as heighten your mood and help you achieve a deepened spiritual connection. The Counterpart to Sun Gazing is called Earthing.  Which means that you make a bodily connection to the earth and it’s magnetic and vibrational field. I’ve learned it from watching and applying the holistic health advice from David Wolfe’s Longevity Now series of cutting edge longevity and cellular regeneration techniques. It’s changed my life completely! Using the earthing and sun gazing techniques with all the natural supplements has helped me keep my eyesight at 20/20 (I’m over 50), I am stronger and more fit than people half my age (I’m a natural bodybuilder), my hair is full and dark brown, and I rarely ever feel ill.

 

You can supercharge your sun gazing benefits by standing or seated on a natural surface (grass, dirt or even concrete) with your bare feet or other direct bodily contact while sun gazing. If you just can’t go barefoot, then do try using some ESD shoes (electrostatic discharge), or grounded earthing shoes.

As you can see learning to sun gaze can be one of the most beneficial things that you can do.  And the price is right too = It’s Free!  Let’s look at how to practice this sacred art to achieve it’s benefits.  You want to start out by going slowly so you can acclimate the rods and cones in your eyes for increased information (intelligence) transmission.  Use the following sungazing guidelines:

Solar Healing Techniques

  1. Look directly at sun when it is directly on the horizon (1-5 minutes before sunset or after sunrise)
  2. Stare into the heart of the sun on your first day for 5 seconds (no more!)
  3. Block your eyes with your hands or close your eyes for a minute afterwards
  4. Drink water afterwards to spread it’s benefit

Each day you can increase the time for sun gazing by 5 seconds.  Work your way up to about 12 minutes a day if you can. You will begin to see benefits after about a month of doing it consistently.  Experienced Sun gazers can do this for over an hour.  It is not recommended that you do sun gazing at any other time than sunrise and sunset.  This is the safe zone.

  1. No, because sun gazing is only for a few minutes, at the first or last few minutes of the day. You can sunbathe, as long as you’ve built up to it gradually, and being 70 years young, it looks like you’ve done just that!

    Got the answer that it’s fine to stand on our redwood deck barefooted….but I am a healthy (take no meds) 70 yr young woman that loves to sunbath…have done it my whole life…usually just one day on the weekend for 2-3 hours…it is so relaxing for me…will this be too much sun..standing looking at the sun as you suggest? I love the idea.

  14. There is not too much you can do in that case. You can still go outside and face the direction of the sun and get the sun photon energy. UV rays pass through the clouds, and they are healthy for you particularly during sun gazing times. It strengthens your bones and gives you vitamin-D, a natural antioxidant and very important for bone health.

  19. Ana, you can use grounded shoes or shoes with a leather or other natural material for the sole. You can also attach a copper wire from the inside of your shoes, touching your foot, and step on it and that will also ground you.

    A metal plate with a wire going into the ground is perfect! David Wolfe has tested this with an EMF (electromagnetic frequency meter) and found a metal plate or rod grounded into the earth does ground you well and uses it on his grounding or earthing products. Of course standing or sitting on the bare ground with your feet touching, or wearing cotton or natural fibers works the best. We only have to do the best that we can. My sunlight is partially blocked at sunset so I still do it and let it filter through the trees, therefore I’m still getting some photos into my pineal gland and the benefit of the extra prana filling my body.

  24. Trees are coming between me and sun. So I started sun gazing from my terrace of
    my house. I stand on a metal plate which is thoroughly grounded with a long
    wire. Once earthed its a part of the earth. So now sun’s positively charged
    energy can flow down through me to the negatively charged earth. IMO
    Or do we really have to stand on earth? HRM says standing on granite is less
    effective as the connection to the earth is low with granite. Then what is
    earth? I think quality of earth is in its negative charge. What you say?.

  25. Glad you found a spot that feels right for you. There are some days where it takes a little longer to get used to it, because of smog and air quality. You’re helping your pineal gland product natural melatonin (a natural anti-aging and healing hormone) as well as bringing light into your body.   26. i made a new discovery, one of the reasons i was having difficulty in sungazing was that i was using the “wrong horizon” on a hill that is too close to my house and of course the sun was still too bright, then i started to use the faraway hills which are also grey that is where i found the right horizon over the faraway hills where the sun isnt excessively bright

  28. It probably would do no harm if it were less than 5 seconds, but I would rather be safest. If that’s all you can do, then do what you can, but always listen to your body. If something hurts, then ease back a little.

  29. i like sungazing, in the morning when it comes out behind the mountain at first, it look like molten glass oozing from the mountain like a volcanoe that instead of eruption, it just oozes out molten glass

  31. The best thing is to defocus your eyes a bit and not look at the sun, but through it. Drink lots of water and only do it while the sun is directly on the horizon, until it goes down, usually up to 5 minutes. Just hang in there and work your way up. Start when the sun is almost gone, and until it is right above the horizon.

  32. ive been sungazing x 2 months and i hadnt advanced yet i only can put up with 30seconds x the afternoon sun but the morning sun x 3minutes otherwise becomes too bright. what can i do?

  34. Very interesting. I’m a believer in the sun’s healing energy. I love sitting out on a nice day and soaking up some rays. From the looks of the beach, lots of other people do the same.

  35. You can but it is much better to not block any spectrum of light to get the full benefit, as the lenses will naturally block some of the beneficial UV and bend other light frequencies.
